Green Jasperware Domestic Employment Miniature Teapot. A Wedgwood green jasperware Domestic Employment miniature teapot featuring white bas-reliefs. The teapot measures approximately 5 1/4 inches from the end of the handle to the end of the spout and stands around 3 inches tall (excluding the lid). The teapot is stamped'Wedgwood Made in England' on the base.
The Domestic Employment teapot in white on sage green jasper is thought to have been produced in Jasper around 1783. The bas-reliefs depicting figures of women and children engaged in domestic pursuits were designed by Elizabeth Lady Templetown who supplied them to Wedgwood as drawings or as'cut-Indian paper'. These were modelled by Willian Hackwood, one of the most skilled modellers employed by Wedgwood in the 18th Century.
