Wedgwood Cobalt Dip Jasper Tea Set Sesquicentennial George Washington 1789-1939

  

A superb and necessarily scare large scale set of four (4) pieces of cobalt jasper dip tea ware by Wedgwood to commemorate the sesquicentennial of George Washingtons inauguration in 1939. The teapot & lid, sugar bowl & lid, creamer and milk jug are ornamented with like patriotic motifs featuring a relief medallion of a naval vessel presumably the USS Constitution and an American Eagle with a banner in its claw with rosettes and olive branch lines. This tea ware set was produced in limited edition for B.

Condition: This Wedgwood Sesquicentennial jasper dip tea set is in very good condition. There are few slight surface scuffs such as on one lid (see picture). The given scuff reveals the white jasper body under the cobalt dip (see photos).
