Elegant Wedgwood Jasperware Imperial pedestal centerpiece bowl in pale blue with applied white sprigged bas-relief. A continuous procession of classical figures encircles the bowl; the rim is finished with an oak-leaf/berry border, and the foot with matching leaf tips-hallmark details of the Imperial form. Made from a fine-grained, unglazed porcelain stoneware that imitates natural jasper. It is an example of a famous type of pottery first produced by the English potter Josiah Wedgwood in the 1770s. WEDGWOOD / MADE IN ENGLAND with ® (production in 1987).
