Here we have a beautiful, extremely rare graduated set of 3 jasperware lidded water jugs. I believe the Atkin Brothers were trading under the same name around the 1850's.
These jugs are spectacular, yes there is some substantial damage to one but its charming with the staple repairs. They are incredibly rare and you won't find another set for sure. These are a wonderful colour and I love the ribbed base.
They are decorated beautifully with grape vine garlands with swag ribbons and lion mask details, all grand details. The pewter lids have leaf decoration and are functional but I would be slightly cautious operating them due to their delicacy/fragility, it is rare to find with them still on in all honesty.
These would look great amongst any collection of jasperware or other blue & white/period pottery and would look great displayed behind a bar. They range in size, the largest measuring approximately 8 inches by 6 inches by 5 inches. The medium jug measures approximately 7.25 inches by 5.5 inches by 4.5 inches, and the smallest 6.5 inches by 5 inches by 4 inches. Combined weight just under 2kg's unboxed.
