A nice Wedgewood Jasperware vanity item, this is cataloged as a "Square Comb Tray" by Wedgwood. It's an oblong octagon in shape, with a raised rim. This example is in cobalt blue dip ware from the 1930s, an era when Wedgwood produced these striking pieces with an electric blue surface set off by the traditional white sprigged relief.
The decoration on this piece is of two of the Muses separated by an elaborate framing element. The tray is 10.5" by 7.75" by 1 tall. Condition: fine, no wear or damage. Mark: impressed Wedgwood backstamps with "Made in England"; the Wedgwood mark is the classic 1930s sans serif stamp.
