Wedgwood Yellow Dip Jasper Ware Oval Comb Tray c. Size: 9 1/8" x 6 1/4". Marked'Wedgwood' in Serif font. Marked'England' - post 1890. No repairs, cracks or chips. Check out our other Wedgwood. Wedgwood Yellow Dip Jasper Ware Oval Comb Tray features the bas-relief of The Reading Lesson and The Young Seamstress. Miss Crewe's designed are very similar to, and often confused with those of Lady Templetown. This 115 year old tray measures 9 1/8" x 6 1/4" and is marked'Wedgwood England' in Serif Font which generally dates the piece to between the McKinley Tariff Act of 1891 and Wedgwood abandoning the'England' Only mark in 1905 for most general production pieces. According to Robin Reilly, Wedgwood - The New Illustrated Dictionary, 1995, p. 245, yellow jasper was produced 1777-c. The use of the'England' stamp must have been incised near the very end of the production run.

There is the slightest of imperfections to the rim of the piece as seen in the images, with the white dot appearing to be paint, none of which is seen from the face.
