Wedgwood Light Blue & White Jasperware Teapot. This beautiful teapot was designed by Lady Templeton (a distant relative of the English Royal Family) in the late 1700's. Notice the fine detail in the relief sculpture and the engine-turning on both the light-blue teapot and lid. Exquisite, dainty details in the white Jasperware, as well.
Notice, too, the beautiful "leaf design" at the top and bottom of the handle. Marked "WEDGWOOD" (in very small capital letters). There is also an impressed "3" and another impressed mark that is unrecognizable. You will also notice some'glue residue' from a previous price sticker. Measurements: approximately 6" tall x 8-1/2" from the back of the handle to the tip of the spout. This is a delicate and smartly designed, classy Wedgwood piece that would be a great addition to any Wedgwood Collection. Rare as this piece is.... You will notice the tip of the spout has a shallow chip in it. In the underside of the lid, there is a firing crack, but this was caused by the original firing... Neither of these issues are view-able while it sits on your shelf. There are NO CHIPS or damage on the rim of the teapot or the rim of the lid. I don't think you will be disappointed.
