Since its inception in 1969 the issue by Wedgwood of a limited number of Christmas Plates has become a part of the traditions of Christmas. A complete, one-decade run of Wedgwood Jasperware Christmas plates from 1979 through 1988. The design chosen for plates diam. 8 in the famous blue and white Jasper, ornamented with a hand-applied white bas-relief. Each plate has the words'Christmas 1979','Christmas 1980'....

Christmas 1988' and embossed in blue and a border of holly leaves in bas-relief. The series celebrates notable UK landmarks (see photos for each year's scene). 1980 - St James's Palace. 1983 - All Souls Church, Langham Place.
