Scarce Pair of Finely Modeled 19th C Wedgwood Green Dipped Jasperware Plaques

These 19th century matched pair of oval plaques with very finely modeled bas relief represent The Infant Academy and Music (sometimes referred to as The Music Lesson) and were originally modeled by William Hackwood around 1785. Each plaque measures 7 wide, 5 high and ¼ thick. They are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs.

There is the tiniest flea bite on the bottom edge of The Infant Academy at the 7 oclock position which is smooth to the touch and may have occurred in production. The Music plaque has minor staining in the lower right-hand corner of the design which can be removed by any competent restorer.
