Rare Wedgwood Pale Blue Jasperware Apollo Muses Pedestal Trophy Vase 1950

  

This elegant vintage Wedgwood Jasperware Trophy Vase Urn with Pedestal Base is a RARE find for collectors of decorative and Jasperware pieces. The vase features the elegant Classical Muses pattern in pale blue with finely detailed white Jasperware relief decoration and the refined matte finish characteristic of Wedgwood Jasperware. Produced in England during the 1950s, the vase reflects the timeless craftsmanship and neoclassical design for which Wedgwood is internationally renowned.

Approximately 21 cm high; diameter 10 cm; pedestal base 8 cm × 8 cm. The intricate detailing and balanced classical form make this an impressive decorative piece, equally suitable for a Jasperware collection or a traditional interior display. WEDGWOOD - Wedgwood began marking its wares from 1759 onwards.

MADE IN ENGLAND - this phrase began to be widely used by the factory from 1908 onwards, replacing the earlier simple "ENGLAND" mark. Letter code in the centre - the vase bears a separately impressed letter "W". In the 20th-century Wedgwood marking system, once the full "MADE IN ENGLAND" inscription was introduced, single letters or two-digit numbers were used to indicate the specific year of production. The letter "W" corresponds to the year 1950. The original construction featuring a bolt inside the base is entirely characteristic of the manufacturing and assembly techniques used for Wedgwood vases of this period.

Good vintage condition overall and beautifully preserved for its age, with a clean and highly decorative appearance. For complete accuracy, there is a small nick/chip to one corner of the pedestal base and a minor flea-bite/wear mark to the rim edge near the neck, both clearly shown in the photographs. No cracks, repairs, or restoration detected. The vase is presented exactly as acquired and consists of the vase body mounted on its pedestal base.
