Pair Wedgwood Sage Green Dip Jasper Ware Liqueur Bottles c. Check out our other Wedgwood. 1910 features the bas-relief of Apollo Musagetes, normally seen with the 9 Muses as director of their choir, Apollo functioned as the patron god of music and poetry. Apollo is accompanied by 7 of the 9 muses. This 115 year old bottle measures 10 1/4 high and is marked'Wedgwood' Only in Serif Font which NORMALLY dates the piece prior to the McKinley Tariff Act of 1891.
Thus not requiring the'England' mark. These bottles were specially made for Humphrey Taylor and Co and they bare the inscription'Manufactured For Humphrey Taylor & Co - London - 1770 - Distillers Of Famous Liqueurs - By Wedgwood'. On one of the bottles the inscription is very faded.
That same bottle has a hairline crack running down from the top of the bottle about 1. I suspect this was caused when the cork stopper swelled inside the bottle. I did not remove the cork for that reason. Please take a very good look at this piece and make an offer if you're interested.
