Antique Jasperware Cheese Stilton Dome Blue

  
Jasperware Stoneware Cheese / Stilton Dome & Stand. These were obviously used for keeping cheese the shape and material providing the cold almost damp but airy condition to allow the cheese to breathe. When not in use the Victorians would show off the dome by proudly displaying it for others to admire. Probably Wedgwood but no makers mark other than a'C' on the inside of the dome.

Mid to Dark Blue with the neoclassical design around the dome with the. 2 chips to the base as per photographs but otherwise in a very good condition for its age and no repairs.
