Leda and the Swan is a story and subject in art from Greek mythology in which the god Zeus, in the form of a swan seduces Leda, a Spartan Queen. Made in Staffordshire, United Kingdom. This is a rare piece as unlike others, it doesn't feature the accented gilt'Leda & The Swan' to the base of the figurine. Approximately 25cm tall x 9cm diameter. Item condition is described as. Used/Good : This item has been used before being donated to the charity. There are placement marks on the base, and some light surface wear / marking / discolouration common with Jasperware pieces due to the matte finish. There are no breaks or chips. Some small markings to rear of one arm of the figurine. Some markings to the elbow, hand / tips of the fingers of one arm. Please see the full listing and pictures for more details before purchasing.
