Large Estate Sale from prolific Art Collector, author and accomplished Art Historian. Collection dating from mid 1940s. Hundreds more mainly Rare and Antiquarian pieces to be listed. Immaculate Wedgwood Green Jasperware Small Posy Vase.

Base is marked Wedgwood Made in England 61. Measures 4 by 3.5 inches diameter approximately. Another Beautiful Neo-classical Wedgwood Green Jasper plaque dating from 1780 but we believe the exact period to be early 1800s. Neoclassical scene depicting playful cherubs raised in white with same style floral raised border on delicate green tile or plaque.

From valuation we have been advised by an Wedgwood Specialist it was created by John Flaxman. RA (6 July 1755 7 December 1826) and valued at significantly more than the listing price. Measures 8 by 3.5 inches.

A few pieces, mostly the larger ones like vases, use several colours together, and some pieces mix jasperware and other types together. The earliest jasper was stained throughout, which is known as "solid, " but before long most items were coloured only on the surface; these are known as " dipped " or " dip ". Please note this is a dipped piece authentically confirmed as Wedgwood.
