Wedgwood Blue Jasperware Very Large City of Stoke Loving Mug - with original Wedgwood Box, insert and Certificate. These were produce in a very limited edition of 50 mugs - so are ultra rare.
Depicts an image of Josiah Wedgwood with a wreath around him and gold printing " Josiah Wedgwood F R S (1730 1795) "Father of English Potters" - on the other side is the coat of arms for the City of Stoke also with a wreath around it and gold printing "Granted City status in1925 by H. King George V - base is stamped Wedgwood Made In England DW N - also printed in gold lettering Issued in 1975 by Wedgwood as a tribute to mark the 50th anniversary of the conferment of city status on Stoke - on - Trent by H. George V in 1925" Number 23 in a limited edition of 50". Size Approximately: 20.5cm/8.25" across handles - 13cm/5.125" high. Good condition no chips, cracks or restoration - insert and certificate also in good condition - box slightly worn with age.
