Rare Antique Nippon Wedgwood Vase Moriage Jasperware

A beautiful antique hand painted Nippon Wedgwood vase in moriage technique featuring white florals on a lavender ground. The vase measures just under 8 inches tall. The green "hand painted Nippon" mark on the base indicates an approximate date of between 1911 and 1921. Excellent condition with light dirt and wear on the base. The Nippon version of Wedgwood's Jasperware is extremely rare and much sought after by Nippon collectors.

Moriage is a special type of raised decoration used on Japanese pottery. Pieces of clay were shaped by hand and applied to the item.
