RARE 19thC WEDGWOOD TRICOLOR JASPERWARE MANTLE CLOCK WORKING ORIGINAL MOVEMENT. Tricolor Jasper ware Mantle Clock. Circa 1895 - Working Order. On offer here is this quite superb late 19th. C mantle clock contained within a rare Wedgwood tricolor jasper ware case. This very pretty and rare antique Wedgwood timepiece is contained within a tricolor jasper ware ceramic case decorated with sage green friezes and further applied classical female figures allegorical of music and literature as well as a scene below the dial depicting classically robed females and a cherub, perhaps making an offering to Eros at a flaming cauldron. The brass clock movement appears to be the original and has a gilded bezel. The white dial bears bold Arabic numerals, and there are secondary markings in smaller black numerals to the outer dial delineating 24 hour.

The wind-up clock movement is marked for "The British Universal Clock Company Ltd" and further. In Great Britain & France. Impressed marks to the base of the case include; "Wedgwood" and the letter; "R". This fine and rare piece of Wedgwood tricolor jasperware is in very good used condition. The clock is in working order and complete.
