Pair of Rare Antique Pale Blue Wedgwood Jasperware Campana Urns with Covers. Decorated in relief depicting neoclassical figures on a blue ground. Dome shaped covers with similar decoration and finials.
Bolted together as originally constructed. One urn is a slightly brighter blue than the other and also slightly more slender (see right hand vase in photos). Both urns have impressed base marks WEDGWOOD (indicating 1860 -1890) plus miscellaneous letters and numerals e. Very good condition, no signs of damage or restoration. Passed down through the family of Thomas Lovatt (1838 -1915) who worked at Wedgwood (1850 - 1902) and became highly accomplished to the extent that later in his career he was allowed to mark his work with an impressed stamp T.
