Their expert is estimating that this piece was done in the late 1800's. The man's private parts were covered up after 1839. Also the man in the portal holding the ladies hand is better than most as the portal has been blacked in, as should be, but the main thing that makes it very older is the base figure.
On the Antiques Road Show last year an expert told the owner that if the base figure reaches the edge of the vase base, then it is an early copy, and yours does this. I have two black ones, like yours full size and one of them has the same as yours, so don't short change yourself -- it's a beauty!
The ones made today are very poorly potted and the handles are to thick and the figures are like icing sugar and they charge five thousand for them!
