Wedgwood Black Dip Jasper Ware Byerley Jug c. Size: 3 7/8" x 5 1/4". Marked'Made In England' - post 1898. Marked'Wedgwood' in Sans Serif font - post 1929. Black Jasper Dip - pre 1941.

Wedgwood Black Dip Jasper Ware Byerley Jug features the bas-relief of Aurora, the Goddess of the Dawn, in a horse-drawn chariot, opening the gates of the East to announce the Dawn. This 85 year old Byerly shaped jug measures 3 7/8" tall x 5 1/4" wide and is marked'Wedgwood Made In England' with'Wedgwood' in Sans Serif Font which dates the piece to between 1929 when Wedgwood introduced the Sans Serif Font and 1941 when Jasper Dip production ceased.

The piece is marked'42'. This is a size mark, not a date stamp.
