Rare Wedgwood Silverplate Clad Relief Jasperware Stoneware Teapot, Cream & Sugar. This is a rare teapot, cream and covered sugar made by Wedgwood. All pieces are clad in silver over copper on a ceramic stoneware body. The exterior has classical scenes in relief as is found on their jasperware.

This method of decoration was developed by William Burton in the late 1800's. The teapot is 5" high to the top of the lid, 8 5/8" from handle to spout and 5 5/8 in diameter.

The covered sugar is 4 1/4" high to the top of the lid and 5 1/4" across the handles. The creamer is 2 3/4" high to the top of the handle and approximately 3 3/4" in diameter.

These pieces do have a few issues, but most are not visible from the outside. The teapot lid has chips on the interior edge of the lid, some stress cracking around the interior strainer for the spout and some wear to the silver plate where the copper is showing through. The sugar also has chips on the interior edge of the lid and the sugar has some some fine interior age cracks or spidering. All pieces are marked Wedgwood and the creamer is marked Wedgwood England. The teapot has the number 24 and the creamer has 30. These pieces date to ca 1887 to 1892.
