Wedgwood Jasperware Black Basalt Spill Vase Victorian 1900s 5 1/2 Inch

  
This is an early example of a black basalt spill vase by Wedgwood. Standing 5.5 inches (14cm) high, it is decorated with typical Wedgwood scenes. The trees feel well defined and the moulding is good. There is no damage or restoration. With no England / Made in England, it is early - pre 1891 at the very least. There is no date letter either, so possibly as early as 1840 - 70. Rare to find one this early - there are others available but if you compare the back stamps they are 20th century in date.
