WEDGWOOD JASPERWARE LIDDED BISCUIT SILVER PLATE JAR. This is a fabulous very old and valuable Wedgwood jasper or jasperware biscuit jar, biscuit barrel, cracker jar, cookie jar or tea barrel.

Beautiful blue with silver-plated fittings, lid and handle. There are white relief scenes of neoclassical women, cherubs and trees around the jar. The biscuit jar measures 6½ inches in diameter by 10¼ inches high including the handle and 5 inches high to the top of the rim.

The mark that is impressed is ONLY WEDGWOOD, and NO ENGLAND or Made in England stamp, dating the piece before 1891. The Jasperware barrel in in very good condition with no chips or restorations.

The inside is remarkably clean. This is one of the best shape biscuit jars I've seen. Please check pictures closely as they are part of the description. There is much tarnish on the piece and it needs polishing or replating.

I have left the silver plate EPNS lid and rim for you to polish so you can see the patina. Exquisitely beautiful, useful or decorative piece.
