Dark Blue WEDGWOOD JASPERWARE TROPHY VASE Circa 1820 VERY RARE WHITE BASE. Taped inside I found a family history of this vase. Stamped Wedgwood on the base. It measures 10 tall and the base is 3 square. It weighs 2 pounds and 6 ounces.
I found a few vases online searching that look very similar to this, just not dark blue and these are from the mid 1700's so this vase could be from 1700's to 1800's. Most of the vases I found that look close to this one are in museums. DAMAGES I SEE:There is one tiny chip on base and a repair on one handle.
Also damage to one of the handle faces which looks like a missing piece of ear. Also, it originally had a lid which is missing.
Many thanks to a couple experts who helped me find all of the flaws. Blue jasper vase featuring white jasper applied decoration. The white jasper decoration is formed in a mold and then applied. This type of decoration is called sprigging.
