The three handled loving cup, I believe, was a ceremonial object used in a wedding. The Wedgewood company of England produce these in numerous colors over a long period of their history. I would say that perhaps the rarest color would be the crimson. This particula item was most likely produced around 1910 as the incised Wedgewood and England only can be seen on the bottom.

The inside has a shiny porcelain finish. The cup stands about 4 1/2 tall and measures 4 1/4 across the top not counting handles.

The condition is excellent for this item. I see no chips, cracks, damage or repairs. I will point out that the medallions underneath the handles shows slight bleeding of the red into the white. I will also note that there is a smudge on one of the handles where the underline white porcelain can be seen through the red glaze. It is not a chip, just glaze skip.

Usually these pieces of this age show considerable staining on the inside from use, this item is clean on the inside. Extremely light veining is visible on the very bottom but is not a distraction.

The relief is in excellent condition with no apparent damage or missing. A spectacular item of which I have never seen one in this color. Please view all pictures as they are considered part of the description. Please check back to my listings often as I will be posting numerous fine examples of glass, pottery and porcelain in the near future.
