Wedgwood blue jasperware rum kettle dancing hours, #53/100 1993, signed Wedgwood

  
A rarely offered, unique Wedgwood Rum Kettle in the Dancing Hours pattern on lavender blue Jasperware. It is number 53 of a limited edition of only 100 pieces, and is signed by Lord Wedgwood. Himself, Piers Anthony Weymouth, in 1994. See further notes below on Lord Wedgwood.

Kettle was produced in November 1993 for the Wedgwood Heritage Collection, and. Is the second offering in that collection. Height: 9 inches = 23 cms.

Width, including spout: 8-3/4 inches = 21.5 cms. Width (side-to-side): 6-1/2 inches = 16.5 cms. Base: 4 inches = 10 cms. Appliqued in white with the Dancing Hours motif. The detail is spectacular and fine, crisp and deep.

With no chips, cracks, stains or discoloration. It looks as if it has never been used (and likely rarely removed from its box). The interior of the kettle is immaculate. The base is impressed with. ® / 93 / MADE IN ENGLAND / BB.

Further information is printed in gilt on the base. It reads: THE WEDGWOOD HERITAGE COLLECTION / SECOND IN A SERIES / RUM KETTLE / AFTER AN EIGHTEENTH CENTURY ORIGINAL / Number 53 in a limited edition of 100. The kettle is signed on the base in gold Sharpie marker: 1994 Wedgwood. Also included with the piece is Lord Wedgwoods personal calling card, with a notation in his hand that reads, Anna 1995 Best Wishes.

The kettle comes complete with original gift box from Wedgwood, also in very good condition. There are a few minor mars to the edges and finish, but overall the box in still in very good condition.
