Delicate Antique Wedgwood Jasper Ware Marriage of Cupid and Psyche Framed Plaque

  
Magnificent rare antique Wedgwood light blue jasperware framed and glass-covered plaque with the delicate and detailed white "Marriage of Cupid and Psyche" relief. Quality and of the relief is stunning. It is very detailed and prominent. We did not examine the plaque out of the frame, but could not spot any defects and/or repairs. There is some relief crazing and yellow stain on two cherubs hands. Please review the pics for full details, and let us know if you'd like to see more.

Modern frame is very solid (and heavy), emphasizing plaque's beauty it has some insignificant ware, e. Glass has some scratches, though. Dimensions: frame: 15" x 12" x 2", sight area: 8 1/8 x 5 3/8" it matches closely the dimensions of the "Marriage of Cupid and Psyche" plaques, 8 1/2 x 5 3/4, produced in the late 1700s. Plaque is marked "WEDGWOOD" there might be other marks, but only these two could be seen, pic. Our best guess is that the plaque was manufactured in the 1790s, but it could be a bit "younger".
