Recent Prominent Washington, DC estate sale find. Most showing extremely light to no evidence of use with some of the older pieces only displaying very light wear. This listing is for an extremely rare pair of Jasperware Acanthus 7 1/2 Spill Vases decorated in white on black. Also, very exceptional is the "Wedgwood Etruria England" red printed mark on the underside. This mark was introduced in the late 1800's, used for a very short period of time and only used on high-end, quality goods.
Only a couple of very slight blemishes; some light wear and very slight roughness around each rim, some firing glaze drips inside the vessels and one vase has an extremely tiny divot (pinhead size) on a trim line and a couple of specks on the outer side (see the last three photos). Other than these insignificant inclusions, no chips, cracks, stains, or crazing. These are spectacular pieces, the slight blemishes take little away from the grandeur of this set and as a pair, display incredibly well.
Considering age, very impressive pieces and nearly impossible to find another pair with this design, in this size, with this color combination. Please review all photos for overall condition, design, and dimensions. Photos contain measurements and price listed is for both vases.
